The Bruce's hit Colorado

After the Bruce's arrived we headed to downtown Castle Rock for the Starlighting ceremony. The star on top of Castle Rock has been lit every year for the past 75 years. It was a fun time with hot chocolate, carriage rides and carols.

for my dad's 70th birthday I surprised him by showing up in Vegas. I got there a few hours after they did. Mom was in on the plan but dad was totally shocked. Several time during my college years I would sneak home around November 9th for his birthday. It was always such great fun. Vegas was a blast. We ate. shopped. gambled. It was a great two days. Happy Birthday Dad!

Rocky Mountain National Park-trip 2

Yesterday we spent the day at Rocky Mountain Nat. Park. We hiked to Chasm Falls about 6 miles. I didn't think Quinn was going to make it pass the first mile. It was mostly up hill on a dirt road and toward the end he perked up when he could climb the rocks to get to the falls. Baker loved being in his back pack and smiled the whole time. Ava was in her glory since climbing is her favorite hobby now. I had an encounter with a HUGE elk. Check him out. HUGE.  I was nearly 5 feet from him before I stopped dead in my tracks.
