Dallas, Texas February 2013

What is the saying you only see people at a funeral or a wedding. Well unfortunately this was true.  Last week Brent and I packed up the kids to drive down to Dallas for Art's father's funeral. Grandpa Stauffacher was 96 years old.

It was a busy weekend filled with sightseeing and catching up with family. It was also a chance for me to try out my new camera. Keep in mind while viewing the pictures that I was fooling with the settings. The of course I forgot to change them back so some of the pictures are over exposed.

Our first stop was to the Stockyard to see the Long Horn Steer. We got there just in time to see the cowboys and the cattle drive.

Quinn was a little nervous to get on that  huge slab of beef but Ava and Baker hopped right on.

Lunch at a BBQ place. Ava was so happy to have some ribs...

Aunt Gail suggested that we see the Water Gardens in downtown Fort Worth.  Brent's cousin Jon met up there. This place is amazing. Very cool water displays and a huge concrete creation they call "the mountain"

Thank goodness that Jon was there. He could scale that "mountain" and chase after those kids a lot faster than I could.

This guy was filming a music video on the top of the "mountain" Pretty cool.

So remember those over exposed pictures I was telling you about before? here they are....

 Look at Pocahontas run.

I love this picture of Ava below. Try and blow it up if you can. She looks lost in thought.

I love his expression in this picture. typical Baker

I love the sequencing in this series of pictures of Ava climbing...

Afterwards we caught up with the rest of the family at Travis and Laura's house. All the family filtered in a little at time.

Jon wrestling with the kids. What is Ava doing?

Aunt Gail knows that my girl loves a project. They made cupcakes together.
Baker is getting a snuggle from Emily.
Poor Uncle Ron gave a ton of piggy back rides that weekend.

 The countless suitcases...
I was so happy that Uncle Robert was able to see the happiness he brings to our house every year for Mardi Gras.

It was a wonderful weekend full of family and fun. Thank you Aunt Gail, Uncle Ron, Laura and Travis for opening your beautiful homes to us.
